The ability to control coolers from a computer allows airflow to be carried out in the place where it is really needed. The maximum rotation speed of the front fan reached 6,000 rpm, and the cooler for blowing the rear wall rotates at a speed of 4,300 rpm.
High efficiency of the cooling system is also achieved by equipping each chip with aluminum radiators. Thanks to this, the Antminer S9 will remain cold even under the highest load. The manufacturer managed to prevent overheating and at the same time extend the service life of the device.

Before you start updating the firmware, make sure that the power supplies connected to the ASICs have a power of at least 1400W. If your ASICs do not work stably or have a hashrate more than 5% lower than the factory values, it is also not recommended to increase the operating frequencies of ASIC chips, because this can lead to even less stable operation or complete equipment failure.
The new firmware, although it is intended for the entire generation of ASICs S9, S9i, S9j, will only work for ASICs with a Xilinx7010 control board. If you have an ASIC miner with a C5 control board, then the overclockable firmware cannot be installed on such an ASIC. If you still need the overclocking function, then use third-party firmware, for example from Braiin OS.

In order for the Antminer S9 ASIC miner to be updated to the latest version, you need to do a few simple steps:
- Turn on the ASIC and go to the control panel;
- Select the “System” - “Upgrade” tab;
- In the “Flash new firmware image” menu, point to the previously downloaded new firmware file;
- Click on the “Flash image” button;
- Do not disconnect the power supply while the firmware update is in progress.

Normal mode is an operating mode that was available in previous versions without the ability to change the performance of the ASIC.
The Unchanged Lower Voltage mode lowers the voltage supplied to the ASIC chips, which reduces power consumption and slightly reduces the hashrate for more stable operation if your ASIC was not working stable before.
Low Power Enhanced Mode is the maximum reduction in ASIC power consumption. At the same time, the standard S9 model loses 4.5TH/s of performance, and the S9i and S9j lose 3.5TH/s.
You also have access to self-selecting modes to reduce the performance of ASICs from minus 0.5 to minus 3 TH/s.
But I think that many will install this update to reduce the hashrate, or rather, on the contrary, to increase it, since the new firmware allows this to be done in the range from 0.5TH/s to 2TH/s in half terahash increments.
But before you start your experiments with increasing the Antminer S9 hashrate, check the power of your ASIC’s power supply, because The manufacturer sets some restrictions in this case:
- For a 1400W power supply, the hashrate can only be increased by 0.5TH/s
- For a 1600W power supply, a maximum mode of up to 2TH/s is available
The Bitamin Antminer T9 model requires power supplies of 1600W and 1800W, respectively, i.e. 200W more than for the S9 version.
The first miners who switched to the new firmware and used overclocking report that the actual increase in hashrate may be even greater by 0.5TH/s from the data specified in the firmware, i.e. instead of 14TH/s at the maximum possible power +2TH/s, the ASIC miner will produce 16.5TH/s.
