What is satoshi
What is Satoshi? Ordinary people who are not even aware of the existence of cryptocurrency will answer that it is probably one of the types of sushi in a Japanese restaurant.

But those who have been living in the world of crypto coins for several days now know that satoshi is the smallest, indivisible part of Bitcoin. How to earn your first coins and how to convert them into other types of cryptocurrencies. This is discussed in detail in this article.

What is more often remembered - Satoshi or Bitcoin?

It should be noted that the formation of Satoshi certainly had a positive impact on the further development of Bitcoin. Virtual currency has become much more widespread among users of the system, as it has become possible to transfer small amounts with lower commissions, make inexpensive purchases of services and goods, paying in Satoshi.

As noted, Satoshi is the smallest part of Bitcoin. In other words, Satoshi is the same virtual currency. However, today, Bitcoin is more often remembered among users, investors, experts, specialists and ordinary people who are not coin holders. And although the term “Satoshi” is already more than 10 years old, the word “bitcoin” is more often heard on the lips of most people.

Bitcoin and its indivisible part

We have already found out what the smallest piece of Bitcoin is called. Now let's find out how many of these particles are included in 1 BTC.

We mentioned that the initial plans to issue only 21 million Bitcoins called into question the promotion of this currency. With such a quantity and currency, it’s too loud to be called something.

Therefore, it was necessary to increase the number of units many, many times, for which purpose they divided 1 cue ball into millions of particles. Precisely millions, it didn’t seem to you, and many millions at that.

Let's not drag on the intrigue and move on to specific numbers. So, 1 cue ball contains 100 million satoshis, or a satoshi is a hundred millionth particle of BTC:

— 1 BTC=100,000,000 satoshi;

— 1 mile BTC=100,000 satoshi (0.001 BTC);

— 1 micro BTC=100 satoshi (0.000001 BTC).

This division made the designation of small amounts much simpler and more convenient. Agree, it’s much easier to say or write “I earned 5285 satoshi” than “I earned 0.00005285 Bitcoin.”

The cost of one such BTC penny depends on the current Bitcoin rate. For example, at the beginning of 2022, this piece cost 0.0000097 euros, 0.000011 dollars, etc. Based on these figures, in order to earn a more or less significant amount, you need to collect more than 1 million of these “pennies.”

Is it possible to exchange rubles/dollars for Bitcoins through Sberbank, Qiwi or WebMoney without commission?

Now let's look at the opposite situation: how to exchange fiat money for Bitcoin. You can do this in the following ways:

  1. Quickly – buy in an online exchanger. However, you will lose some money on exchange rate differences and commissions.
  2. Cheap – buy on a crypto exchange or directly in an online wallet (for example, Blockchain). With this method, you only have to pay a 2-3% commission for entering fiat money into the system. There is usually no fee charged for the transaction itself or for withdrawing cryptocurrency.
  3. The most profitable, but with risk - from an individual directly or on a P2P platform.

You cannot exchange dollars/rubles for Bitcoin through Sberbank. In 2019, the institution suspended plans to work with cryptocurrency due to the negative position of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.

Direct exchange of Qiwi rubles to BTC is not possible. You need to resort to one of the methods listed above. There is no point in exchanging rubles for cryptocurrency on WebMoney because of the “draconian” commissions.

Finally, I advise you to look at the article about which cryptocurrency to invest in, how best to do it and when.

How many Satoshi are in one bitcoin and ruble?

I’ll start with the main thing, so that those who came specifically for this would not leave without getting to the point. So, Satoshi is the smallest possible share of Bitcoin today (it got its name from the creator of this cryptocurrency, Satoshi Nakamoto). How many satoshi are in 1 bitcoin ? A lot, as much as a hundred million ( 100,000,000 ).

And, conversely, 1 satoshi = 0.00000001 bitcoin (one hundred millionth of a whole moment). Why was it necessary to introduce satoshi at all? Well, for the same reason why they use kopecks for rubles and cents for dollars. The only difference is that a bitcoin penny is already a hundred million times smaller than a whole coin, and not a hundred times as in the given examples of the ruble and dollar. And there is an explanation for this too.

The current exchange rate of the bitcoin coin now fluctuates around ten thousand dollars (six to seven hundred thousand rubles). This is a lot and, you must admit, the figure of 0.000145 BTC does not look very representative, although at the current rate it will be as much as 100 rubles or 1.5 bucks. But this is of secondary importance - they did it and did it. When Bitcoin costs a million dollars, then such “shrinking” will no longer seem unnecessary
