Bitmain has launched two advanced ASIC miners on the market that are aimed at mining BTC. They are high-tech devices that are recognized as the best and most cost-effective ASICs for mining cryptocurrency. This is a significant argument that not only proves Bitmain’s leadership in the market, but also confirms the relevance of Bitcoin ASICs in 2020.
Where to buy Antminer S19 Pro
To do this, you can use the official website of the manufacturer Bitmain, where not only this ASIC is presented, but also its previous revisions:
As you can see, it is currently unavailable, and the next delivery is expected in August 2022. Naturally, every Bitcoin-oriented miner wants to buy the Bitmain Antminer S19 Pro, so they immediately disappear from the warehouse. Fast sales are also facilitated by resellers who list ASICs on ad sites, but at completely different prices:
The price difference for Antminer S19 Pro reaches 300%, which is disappointing. Next, we will consider how profitable it is when purchasing from the manufacturer, and in Russia from resellers.
Start of sales and prospects for ASICs
Some legal bans in China due to the coronavirus are causing some concern. Some analysts predict a delay in the actual delivery of devices to customers and a delay in pre-orders. The main problem is the ban on free movement in China and also outside the country, which can become a problem when sending ASICs to the end buyer.
Certain hopes are pinned on the fact that AliExpress continues to ship goods from China, despite existing difficulties and prohibitions, which will allow Bitmain to soon begin shipping the first waves of S19.
Comparison of Bitmain Antminer S19 Pro with previous devices
To understand how profitable today's hero is, you should pay attention to his younger brothers.
ASIC | S19 Pro | S19 | T19 |
Algorithm | SHA-256 | ||
Hashrate, Th/S | 110 | 95 | 84 |
Consumption, W | 3250 | 3250 | 3150 |
Energy efficiency, W/Th | 29,5 | 34,2 | 37,5 |
Price | 3769 | 2767 | 2118 |
As you can see, the manufacturer does not offer clever solutions, but everything is quite simple - the more expensive the ASIC, the more income it brings from mining per month.
We would like to note that Antminer S19 Pro 110 and 95 should work more stable, since they have updated firmware and improved power supplies.

Later, new models were added on the main Bitmain website (with the pre-order option temporarily closed), which confirmed the previously announced technical data of each ASIC.
Main characteristics of S19:
- Algorithm – SHA256;
- Hashrate – two versions with 90 and 95 TH/s;
- Energy consumption - 3250W;
- Noise emission – 75 dB;
- Average temperature – 35 degrees;
- Dimensions – 40 x 19.5 x 29;
- Weight: 4 kg.
The official price remains unknown at the moment, although some intermediary sites have published pre-orders for the older version of the S19 at a price of $2,300.
A feature of the entire Antminer S19 line is the use of the APW12 stabilizer, thanks to which the manufacturer expects to achieve increased operating stability. All models are also equipped with parallel fans and an energy saving mode.
No customization in ASIC Antminer S19 Pro
First, you need to warn that you won’t be able to download any custom firmware here, since the manufacturer has blocked this feature. The main operating mode of ASIC Bitmain Antminer S19 Pro is Secure Boot or Protected Boot. Access to deeper settings is not yet available, since Root Authority (access to root installations) is blocked.
Bitmain itself explains this in its own way - so that viruses do not harm the system and do not disrupt the cryptocurrency mining process.
Connecting and setting up Antminer S19
The manufacturer has not yet published instructions for launching the miner; it is only known that the antminer S19 setup works in the “ Secure Boot ” mode, and the “ Root Authority ” function is deactivated.
This eliminates the possibility of installing custom firmware and any manipulations with hardware parameters. Bitman strongly recommends working only on Antpool and Btc.com servers. For all questions regarding setting up Bitmain products, including Antminer S19, you can contact the support service, link: https://support.bitmain.com.
Setting up mining on Antminer S19 Pro
First you need to download the IPReporter archive from the official website:
At the time of writing the review, the current firmware was from 02/04/2021, so if you have an old version installed, we recommend updating it. We will tell you how to do this below.
Unpack the IPReporter archive and run the .exe file.
In Shelf, Step and Position you can specify the location of each ASIC if you have several of them installed, so that in the future you can control each of them separately. After this, click Start. A window will open with IP (provided automatically via DHCP), MAC address and position:
Open your browser and enter the issued IP. The default login and password are root. Go to the IP setting tab, enter your data:
- IP address;
- Subnet mask;
- Gateway;
- DNS server.
Save the settings.
In the Miner Settings submenu you must specify:
- pool;
- miner name;
- password.
A maximum of 3 pools can be used simultaneously. Here you can configure the operating mode – Normal or Sleep. The fan speed can be adjusted as a percentage, but we recommend not to do this, since the smart ASIC hardware will adjust it itself, depending on the temperature.
Save the settings, and ASIC will begin mining cryptocurrency.
Firmware Antminer S19 Pro
The manufacturer monitors its equipment and periodically releases updates that eliminate minor bugs and make additional improvements to stability. You can download the latest firmware from the official website. Next, write down its SD card and insert it into the ASIC. Go sequentially through the System – Firmware upgrade tabs, and enter the path to the downloaded update:
It is recommended to leave the Keep setting checkbox so that the settings are reset to factory settings when flashing the firmware. If you remove it, your current ones will be saved, but it is unknown how they will show themselves after the update. After completing the firmware, you need to reboot Antminer S19 Pro.
Profitability of Antminer S19 from Bitmain
As usual, profitability calculations for both ASIC models will be made using the WhatToMine service. We remind you that you can calculate the profitability of your video cards in mining using our 2CryptoCalc calculator.
So, we select our mining algorithm (SHA-256), enter the hashrate stated in the announcement, electricity consumption and set the cost per kilowatt-hour at 6 cents. At the current dollar exchange rate, this amount is approximately 4 rubles. The entered data is in the screenshot below.

On the day, S19 will bring you $9.13 after deducting electricity costs. In a month, assuming a constant Bitcoin exchange rate and a constant hashrate, you could earn $283.03. This is really a lot considering the current subsidence of the exchange rate.
UPD: we have updated this article to calculate the payback of ASIC.
Today - April 20 - the profitability of Bitcoin mining on Antminer S19 is just over $7.

The Bitcoin exchange rate now changes daily, so our calculations will be correct at the time of writing the review. In any case, you can calculate the profitability yourself using a mining calculator. We will use the most popular:
Let's consider how long it will take to pay off the ASIC and start receiving net income from mining. We charge 5.47 rubles for electricity, 24/7 operation.
ASIC | S19 Pro | S19 | T19 |
Income per day, $ | 41,36 | 35,34 | 30,78 |
Cost, $ | 3769 | 2767 | 2118 |
Payback period, days | 91 | 78 | 69 |
As you can see, the younger representative of the line will pay for itself faster, but there is a nuance. After he fights himself off, you move on to net profit, and T19 brings it 26% less. It turns out that with Bitmain Antminer S19 Pro, earnings will be higher, so it is more profitable to buy it.
Let's also take a look at the picture when buying at the local market:
ASIC | S19 Pro | S19 | T19 |
Income per day, $ | 41,36 | 35,34 | 30,78 |
Cost, $ | 11509 | 8124 | 7447 |
Payback period, days | 278 | 230 | 242 |
Please note that stores in the Russian Federation have completely different prices, just like on trading platforms. If you decide to purchase, then take the time to search for a low price for the Bitmain Antminer S19 Pro. For example, we managed to find such an offer, but, again, it is not known when the delivery will be.
Profit and payback of models
It is not possible to accurately calculate profits before actually entering the market. However, the estimated profit can be found out thanks to WhatToMine, taking into account the currently known characteristics of the new S19 models, as well as the current exchange rate and difficulty of Bitcoin mining.
According to average data, the ASIC will bring $9.10-9.16 per day when electricity costs are deducted. This is a fairly solid profitability indicator, which provides an average of $280-290 per month. Given the rate drawdown, the complexity of the network and the low power of competitors on the SHA256[/anchor] algorithm, the new Antminer S19 series can be considered the top devices for Bitcoin mining by a colossal margin.
The profitability of the most powerful ASIC S19 Pro 110 Th, according to preliminary calculations on the calculator, is $11.3 per day. The monthly expected income from the most powerful currently announced device is $350-360.
An accurate calculation of profitability is impossible until the exact price of the devices is obtained, since at the moment the manufacturer Bitmain has not yet announced the start of pre-orders for the devices. However, if we refer to data from intermediary companies that have already set a price tag of $2,300 for the junior S19 model and $2,500 for the top-end S19 Pro, the initial payback calculation will be in the range of 7-8 months.
This indicator will also be affected by the cost of electricity, exchange rate and other conditions. It is also worth considering the complication of mining after the release of S19 models on the market, which may exceed the payback of up to 9-10 months, taking into account the decrease in profitability in subsequent months.
If we compare the S19 series with the previous generation S17 and the less powerful T17, which also had an average payback of 6 to 8 months (taking into account the increase in mining complexity), the calculations for new devices will fluctuate in the same range.
